Welcome aboard the blog of the Sailing Vessel Chantey.
Join us in our shoreside adventures as we prepare to sail the Pacific Ocean.
Chantey is a Westsail 43 ketch, designed by Bill Crealock and launched in 1974. Currently on the hard in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we are completing a major re-fit before sea trials in the bay.

On the hard

Chantey is sitting safely on the hard in Puerto Vallarta. When we bought her she hadn't been sailed or fitted out for a long time. We have spent the last three years working on her, with some expert help along the way.

Here is Juan, our fibreglass expert, completing the work on her bottom!
